COMMERCIAL FLOWER ARRANGING
4-DAY INTENSIVE FLOWER ARRANGING COURSE
Being a florist can be a very exciting and challenging career. Many people of all ages, from other working backgrounds are being retrained and entering the floristry industry.
Module One is especially designed for people who wish to pursue a career in the Florist Trade or those who want to work from home on a commercial basis.
Kay's School of Floristry is an independent business and many of our past students are working from home as freelance florist. We teach and tell you all the tricks of the trade and our aim is to support and advise students on opening and managing a floristry business
This course starts with an introduction and advice on purchasing and selecting the essential flowers, foliage, accessories and materials in the Flower Markets and Flower Sundries Wholesalers.
Kay's Flower School students receive instructions on how how to condition, treat and store flowers and living materials and are advise on the recommended retail selling prices of all their finished designs.
Students start with a traditional presentation, Table Center or a Classic Basket arrangement and are taught the geometric shapes and then they advance onto Fantastic Contemporary, Modern, and Funky arrangements.
Tuition is step-by-step demonstration and detailed explanation of the techniques of assembly of each flower arrangement.
Students are under supervision at all times while they copy each display. All materials and flowers are supplied and students arrangements are theirs to take home.
On completion of this module, students are capable of taking orders for Birthdays, Mothers Day, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Births, Anniversaries and many Special Occasions.
At the end of the course students receive FREE support if they have any further enquires on this Module.
Certificate of completion given upon successful completion of this course.
This flower arranging course can be attended Monday to Thursday or over two weekends (Two Fridays & two Saturdays)
We recommend students to proceed to our Sympathy Floristry Course (Module 2) after finishing this course.
(It is possible to attend 2 days of this course or if you wish to only cover Contemporary flower arrangements over the 2 days and make four flower arrangements. Price €300 for two days).

All Materials Supplied:
At Kay's Flower School we provide all fresh flowers, foliage, baskets, bowls, florist foam, wreath bases, ribbon, wire and floral tape and students take home each flower arrangement they make in class.
You need absolutely no previous experience in flower arranging for this flower arranging course. We have students from all walks of life and age, sex and standard of education is not important, all you need is a desire to learn.
On all courses please bring:

A Packed Lunch, or lunch can be purchased in Local Shops & Café’s

A large Notebook, Biro's and colored pencils

A Florist Scissors, and a camera

Plastic sleeves and folders for handouts.

To keep the flowers fresh the room in winter is cool (Not freezing) so we advise students to wear warm comfortable clothes.

WHAT IS COMMERCIAL FLOWER ARRANGING?
This is when students are taught how to cost a floral arrangements, work out how many and what selection of flowers to use, where to buy sundries and fresh flowers wholesale, how to treat flowers, the amount of Oasis needed in each display, what type and quantity of foliage to use and what size their display should be for the quantity of flowers used.
Because Kay's Flower School is an independent business we teach you all the tricks of the trade and our aim is to support and advise students on opening and managing a floristry business, however many of our past students are working from home as freelance florist.
Students learn where to insert the main points into the display, the wholesale and selling price of each arrangement and what size arrangement would be suitable for a particular area or in an unusual container. All the geometric shapes are covered and then we advance onto continental / funky displays.
