FLORIST REQUIRED:-
THE YARD FLORAL DESIGN Jamie Kelly opened his florist business in Clontarf approximately 6 months ago and he is looking for a student who has completed all 3 modules for 2 days flexible maybe leading to a full time position. He would be willing to give a suitable student some work experience presuming they have completed all aspect of Commercial flower Arranging, Sympathy and Bridal Floristry and are quiet competent in Making Hand-Tied Bouquets in Aqua Packs. (Please be prepared to make a Hand-Tied Bouquet wrapped in cello/tissue and present it standing in an Aqua pack at an interview and they may also be asked to make a Contemporary Floral Display and a Floral Sympathy Tribute)
A Bride-to-be has contacted our school and is wondering if any of our students would be interested in taking on a project as work experience. She is getting married on 14th August 2010 in Kilronan Castle Roscommon and is willing to pay for the flowers and expenses and is looking for someone (or a few students working together) to design and decorate the Castle and church with flowers. Kay’s School of Floristry will do floral demonstrations for any club etc. who wish to fundraise for their club or a charity. You can have as many people as you wish at the demonstration and our fee for the demonstration is free and the cost of the materials will be approximately €100. Clubs must provide the venue (Dublin only)and the five displays that we demonstrate may be raffled at the end of the demonstration to recover the clubs etc. expenses
PART TIME POSITION IN FLORIST:

WORK EXPERIENCE IN A FLORIST
A past student Joanne who has opened a Flower Shop in Kilkee Co Clare is willing to take on any student who has completed at least 3 modules on a Work-Experience Level. This would give students a great chance to practice their floristry skills and build up their speed. Plus the experience will stand to you when applying for a position in a Florist Shop. Hi Ladies, Just thought I’d update you on my progress since I last saw you on the Xmas course in November. Buds and Berries doing really well following the launch of the site last October. We did our first wedding fair in Feb of this year and it was a great success. Both Paul and I are working on it together now as it is too much for just myself to run.
