Kay's School of Floristry is an independent business, that means we can tell you all the tricks of the trade and our aim is to support and advise students on opening and managing a floristry business or indeed working from home or as a  freelance florist. 

The aim of Kay’s Floristry School is to make Commercial Floristry and Flower Arranging more accessible to everyone, individuals who simply enjoy flowers in their home, florist who wish to improve their floristry skills and those who may have an ambition to make floristry a career.

Kay’s Flower School offers courses in flower design and floristry and range from one day workshops to four-day intensive courses. Demonstrations and practical sessions are led by professional teachers Kay Janette and Deirdre

Courses are accessible to everyone whatever their level of experience, they are kept small so that personal attention can be given to all.

At Kay’s Flower Courses we have students of all ages and sex and from many different countries and backgrounds.

After completing our courses, a large percentage of students have become full-time florists and Kay’s Flower School has the highest rate of students starting their own florist shops throughout Ireland.

In the past the tutors at Kay's have been the owners and managers of a successful Florist business and have been running our Flower Arranging and Training School for over 20 year. The tutors have a vast experience and knowledge of the daily running, pitfalls and challenges faced by students intending to work in a florist or start their own florist business.  

At Kay’s Flower School we can advise students on the tips of the trade, how to deal with customer and trade enquires, where and when opportunities arise to create more business and the best way to deal with these situations.

All Materials Supplied:
At Kay's we provide all flowers, foliage, baskets, bowls, florist foam, wreath bases, ribbon, wire and floral tape and students may take home each design they make in class.

On all courses please bring:

1. A Packed Lunch, or lunch can be purchased in Local Shops & Café’s

2. A large Notebook, Biro's and colored pencils

3. A Florist Scissors, and a camera

4. Plastic sleeves and folders for handouts.

5. To keep the flowers fresh the room in winter is cool (Not freezing) so we advise students to wear warm comfortable clothes.
