COMMERCIAL WEDDING FLORISTRY COURSE

4-DAY INTENSIVE COURSE

What is Commercial Wedding Floristry?
Commercial Wedding or Bridal Floristry is a lucrative and profitable business.  It can involve an array of skills from Wedding Bouquets, Button Holes, and Flowers for the Brides House, Church Flowers, Hotel Flowers and lots more. 
It would be impossible to cover all aspects of Wedding Flowers over 4 days, hence in order to be able to offer your client a full and comprehensive package, Wedding Floristry is divided over two Modules. Module 3 and Advanced Module 4.

Who is this course suitable for?
Our Intensive Commercial Wedding Floristry Courses are suitable for anyone who has an interest in flowers and is looking to earn a second income, work from home/ freelance or in a flower shop or maybe in the future set up their own business.  Our students range from early school leavers to those of you whose family may be reared and are looking for new challenges or those of you who are looking to change career direction. 
In order to enrol on our Commercial Wedding Floristry Course candidates must have completed Module 1 Intensive Flower Arranging and Module 2 Intensive Sympathy Floristry and Hand Tied Bouquets or equivalent standard.

What is covered on this course?
This course is designed in such a way that once you have completed Module 3 you will be quite capable of completing a small wedding on your own.

  • Marketing & Promoting yourself as a Wedding Florist – Brochures/ Price lists / Business Cards
  • Preparing for Wedding Fairs
  • Consulting with Brides and Bridal Party
  • How to advise your client and sell your designs
  • Preparing your portfolio
  • Where you can  buy your sundries and materials
  • When you should buy in your wedding flowers, how to treat and store them

Students are provided with step-by-step instructional notes and an itemised list of the materials required for each wedding design.

Included is how to cost each design and the commercial selling price you would expect for each of each presentation. 

What do I need to bring with me?

  • All your flowers, foliage and sundries are supplied throughout the course.  All designs you make are yours to bring home with you to either admire, sell or used to promote yourself.
  • You will need to purchase a Florist Scissors to work with at home, this is an essential tool of the trade. (Florist Scissors are available to purchase at the school)
  • You are advised to bring a Camera with you in order to photograph the step by step points of your designs, also any extra designs demonstrated by your tutor.
  • You should also photograph your fellow students arrangements as you may all not be working with the same type of flowers or foliage (when possible we endeavour to provide a selection of flowers/foliage in order for students to see the same arrangement made with different ingredient)
  • You will be provided with comprehensive notes throughout the course, we advise you bring a folder with plastic sleeves to place these notes in to keep them in order
  • .You should also bring a notebook and pen/pencil to take notes throughout.

What should I wear?

  • As flowers need to be kept cool, we do advise you to wear warm clothes in layers as you will find throughout the day you will get quite warm when working.
  • We also advise you wear casual clothing as flowers can be messy & wet.
  • You may be standing at times throughout the course so comfortable low heal shoes are advised.

When is this Course on?

February - Sat & Sun 25th/ 26th & March 3rd/4th

February - Mon - Thurs 27th to Mar 1st


Course Begins at 10am until 3.30 pm each day

How much does this course cost?

  • This course costs €600.00 which includes all your tuition, flowers, sundries & materials.
  • It is possible to attend 1 or 2 days of this course at a cost of €175.00 per day.
  • All your materials are provided for your training
  • On all courses we provide all fresh flowers, foliage, baskets, bowls, florist foam, wreath bases, ribbon, wire and floral tape and students take home their finished designs.
  • Kay's School of Floristry is an independent business and are not connected to any flower shop or wholesalers.
  • What this means is our aim is to support and assist you reach you goals, be it starting your own business, work part time from home, gain employment in a flower shop or branch out freelance.  We can advise you without prejudice the best way to go about it.
  • We want you to be successful and achieve your dream.

What happens when I’m finished my course and I’m ‘stuck’ with an order or I forget something?
At Kay's Flower School we offer you complete support both during and after your course is complete.  We are renowned for this free back-up service for all our students. As a past student of Kay’s you are welcome to email your tutor for advice on future orders you may have. 

Yes! I want to book my place today, How do I go about it?
Places are only reserved by phone/email and confirmed with a €200 deposit.  Please print out the application form on the left and post it on to use with your deposit. Cheques/ Postal Orders/ Bank Drafts must be made payable to KAY’S. Please DO NOT post cash.
On receipt of your course deposit we will notify you by email or text of your secured booking. 
Deposit and Course Fees are Non-refundable.
Balance due on each course must be paid at least one week prior to your commencement date.


FAS & C.E. Supervisors may book students onto a course in advance.

Applications forms or confirmation letter must be returned to the school before the student attends a course.

On successful completion of this module you will be awarded a Kay's School of Floristry Certificate of Completion
