MODULE 1 COMMERCIAL FLOWER ARRANGING

4-DAY INTENSIVE COMMERCIAL FLOWER ARRANGING

Module One is especially designed for people who wish to pursue a career in the Florist Trade or those who want to work from home on a commercial basis. On completion of this course we recommend our students to progress to Module 2.

This course starts with an introduction and advice on purchasing and selecting the essential flowers, foliage, accessories and materials in the Flower Markets and Wholesalers. 

Students are supervised at all times whilst making their arrangements. All Tuition is with step-by-step demonstration and detail explanation of the techniques of assembly of each presentation and detailed instructions on how to condition, treat and store flowers and living materials. Students are advised on the recommended retail prices of their finished designs. We start with geometric shapes and then advance onto Fantastic Contemporary, Modern, and Funky displays.. All materials and flowers are supplied and students displays theirs to take home.

On completing this module, students are capable of gaining orders for Birthdays, Mothers Day, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Births, Anniversaries Special Occasions.

Certificate of completion given upon successful completion of this course.

This course can be attended Monday to Thursday or weekends, two Fridays and two Saturdays.

We recommend students to proceed to Bridal Floristry Module 2 after finishing this course

MODULE 2 COMMERCIAL SYMPATHY AND HAND-TIED BOUQUETS

4-DAY INTENSIVE COMMERCIAL COURSE

Module 2 includes advanced design techniques on Funeral Tributes and Hand-Tied Bouquets in Aqua Packs. Students are taught all aspects and designs of Sympathy Tributes.  The Wholesale purchase price of Wreath Bases, Quality and Quantity of Flowers and Foliage to use. We explain the procedure a Florist needs to take in taking a customer's order and the recommended selling prices of each base. Notes and detail instructions are provided.

Over the four days students will have hands on practical experience on the following designs, Eternal Circle, Textured Floral Wreath, Round Wreath edged with pleated ribbon with a crescent spray arrangement, a Sympathy Rose in cello and a Funeral/Coffin Spray.

To maximize the retail sales for a Florist Business, all students master the technique of Hand Tied Bouquets using new up to date concepts of wrapping in Aqua Packs, (bubble of water) and they will learn to incorporate bear/steel grass or ting tings. Students are taught an array of techniques in wrapping with tissue and cello and how to make a large florist bow to add the finishing touches to their completed bouquet. 

Your Tutor will also give step-by-step instructions and demonstrate the following designs. A Sympathy Heart Wreath edged with ribbon incorporating a floral spray A grouped or textured Sympathy Cross Tribute and how to do a floral initial on a Sympathy Pillow or Cushion Wreath.

As a team students assemble and decorate "The Gates of Heaven" tribute and they also learn how to design a modern foliage textured wreath using a selection of retail and garden foliage.

Certificate of completion given upon successful completion of this course

We recommend students to proceed to Bridal Floristry Course. (Module 3)

This course can be attended Monday to Thursday or two Fridays and two Saturdays.

MODULE 3 COMMERCIAL BRIDAL FLORISTRY

4-DAY INTENSIVE COMMERCIAL BRIDAL FLORISTRY COURSE

We recommend students to have completed Module 1 before commencing this course.

This is a course is for florists who wants to compete on a professional level in Wedding Floristry and students who wish to pursue a career in the floral business. Students are provided with step-by-step instructions and for each design, including an itemized list of flowers etc. to use in the most popular wedding bouquets. We teach you how to sell yourself to enable you to have the confidence and knowledge in dealing the Brides Wedding order. Most important we advise you how much to charge the customer and Kay’s School provides full back up service for all  our students future weddings.

This course starts with an introduction to Bridal Floristry. Students are issued with extensive step-by-step instructions for all designs and how to cost individual bouquets, what quantity of flowers and materials to use, how to deal with a bridal enquiry and the recommended selling prices.

Students are advised and provided with information on choosing the essential materials and are supplied with a wholesalers list where they can purchase materials for wedding orders and they receive hands on instruction on the following designs. Buttonholes, Corsages, Pew Bows, Hand-Tied Bouquet, Traditional Shower/Teardrop Bouquets and Contemporary/Funky Bouquets.
Time permitting your tutor will demonstrate and give detail instructions on how to make the subsequent designs. A Flower Girls Basket, Floral hoop, Pomander, Ring Cushion, Side comb, Halo Head-dress, Brides or Bridesmaids Horseshoe/Crescent Bouquet and a Single Rose in cello. At Kay's we cover Wired Bouquets, Oasis Holders and the Hand-Tied method of assembly.
